Turfway's Holiday Inaugural Stakes Draws Full Gate
FLORENCE, Ky. (Dec. 2, 2016) – An oversubscribed field of 14 fillies and mares 3 years old and up signed on to vie for the 31st running of the Holiday Inaugural Stakes at Turfway Park on Saturday. A dozen will go to post for the six-furlong black type sprint, which offers a $50,000 purse. Read more.
Turfway Park Will Kick Off 42nd Holiday Meet November 30
FLORENCE, Ky. (Nov. 29, 2016) - Turfway Park opens its 42nd holiday Thoroughbred race meet Nov. 30, racing Wednesday through Sunday through Dec. 31. Admission and parking are free.
First post is 6:15 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 3:00 p.m. on Sunday with nine races each day. The track will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Read more.
Turfway Hires Dina Estrella as Sales and Marketing Leader
FLORENCE, Ky. (Sept. 8, 2016) - Turfway Park announced today the addition of Dina Estrella to spearhead sales and marketing for the Thoroughbred racetrack. In her new position, Estrella will oversee advertising, sales, events and promotions with a focus on engaging fans and growing Turfway’s community presence.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dina to the Turfway team,” said General Manager Chip Bach. “Her sales and marketing experience coupled with her racing knowledge and love for Turfway Park is the ideal combination of skills and passion.” Read more.
Turfway Names Mike Battaglia Associate VP
FLORENCE, Ky. (March 4, 2016) – Mike Battaglia, whose association with Turfway Park stretches back almost half a century, will step down from the announcer’s booth to assume the role of associate vice president at the Northern Kentucky Thoroughbred race track, effective March 12. He will serve as the track’s ambassador, teaching the art and science of handicapping, engaging fans and helping to promote the track to horseplayers. Read more.
