(April 2, 2016) – Ken and Sarah Ramsey’s Oscar Nominated made the lead at the eighth pole and held off Alto Racing’s determined Azar by a neck to win the $500,000 Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati Spiral Stakes (G3) at Turfway Park Saturday. Mike BattagliaTurfway Names Mike Battaglia Associate VP
FLORENCE, Ky. (March 4, 2016) – Mike Battaglia, whose association with Turfway Park stretches back almost half a century, will step down from the announcer’s booth to assume the role of associate vice president at the Northern Kentucky Thoroughbred race track, effective March 12. He will serve as the track’s ambassador, teaching the art and science of handicapping, engaging fans and helping to promote the track to horseplayers. Read more.

Shogood wins the WEBN Stakes, Chris Emigh up.​Shogood Leads All the Way in WEBN Stakes Win
FLORENCE, Ky. (Feb. 20, 2016) – Shogood relished his return to sprinting on Polytrack Saturday night, leading all the way to take the $50,000 WEBN “Frog” Stakes at Turfway Park by a length and a half over long shot Blue Wings. Brett SantangeloSantangelo Scores First Career Training Win
UK student Brett Santangelo, 22, scored his first career training victory Sunday when Charnocks drew in off the also-eligible list and won the third race at Turfway Park. 

A native of Hershey, Pennsylvania, Santangelo began his career in racing by working for a track veterinarian at Penn National while still in high school. He moved to Kentucky to attend the University of Kentucky and is currently working toward a degree in Equine Science. Read more.

Trainer Marshall Godsey and owner Chester Thomas, who campaigns as Allied Racing Stable LLC, each celebrated the first stakes win of his career when Dingdingdingding upset the Forego Stakes at Turfway Park Saturday. The win also earned Dingdingdingding his first stakes trophy. Read more.

Serene Melody wins the Wintergreen StakesSerene Melody Gets First Stakes Win in Turfway’s Wintergreen
FLORENCE, Ky. (Jan. 2, 2016) – Serene Melody got a perfect trip under jockey Sophie Doyle to win the 34th running of the $50,000 Wintergreen Stakes at Turfway Park Saturday, drawing off to win by 2-1/2 lengths over the late-charging City of Trix. Read more.
