FLORENCE, KY . . . April 14, 2010 . . . Turfway Park has teamed with Cincinnati country radio station WUBE to present Country's Rising Stars, a series of weekend concerts at the track to showcase emerging national country artists.
The series debuts Friday, April 16, with singer-songwriter Steve Azar, whose hits include "I Don't Have to Be Me ('Til Monday),” "Waitin' on Joe," "Moo La Moo," and "Sunshine." In addition to solo tours, Azar has opened for Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band, Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, Hootie & the Blowfish, Montgomery Gentry and other artists.
Cincinnati's Cef Michael Band opens Friday’s show at 7:30pm. Doors open at 7pm.
Admission to each Country's Rising Stars concert is $10, general admission only. Tickets are available at the door or in advance by calling the Turfway Park general office at (859) 371-0200. Parking is free.
Next on the schedule is Josh Thompson on Saturday, May 15. Concerts are planned each month through December.

"While we conduct live racing only five months of the year, the Rising Stars series and other events allow us to offer first class, reasonably priced entertainment to our loyal patrons all year long."
The Country's Rising Stars series is booked through C3 Presents of Austin, Texas, which also provides talent for the Austin City Limits Festival, Lollapalooza, House of Blues Dallas and House of Blues Houston, and Harrah's Casinos.
