FLORENCE, KY . . . March 25, 2010 . . . Connemara has been installed as the 9-5 morning line favorite for the Lane's End Stakes (G2) this Saturday at Turfway Park. Longtime track announcer and NBC analyst Mike Battaglia set the morning line after entries were drawn Thursday at Turfway's annual Call to the Post luncheon.
Connemara, who has come from off the pace in each of his races—often from far off the pace—drew the inside post in the field of 10 three-year-olds. He has three wins and one second in four lifetime starts and comes in to the Lane’s End off a 1 1/4-length win in the Grade III El Camino Real Derby at Golden Gate. He broke his maiden at Turfway in October and has raced only on all-weather surfaces similar to Turfway’s Polytrack.
Co-second choice at 5-1 are Northern Giant in post 7 and Dean's Kitten in post 9.
