FLORENCE, KY . . . February 21, 2008 . . . After her eight-length romp in the Cincinnati Trophy Stakes last month, Valentine Fever returns to Turfway Park this Saturday for the Valdale Stakes. For 3-year-old fillies going a mile, the Valdale sets up for the Grade III Bourbonette Oaks on the Lane's End Stakes undercard on March 22.

Valentine Fever has three wins from four starts on Polytrack, two at Turfway and one at Keeneland. She has raced once at the Valdale's distance, tiring to finish far back in the Grade III Pocahontas at Churchill last fall—a lifetime ago in the career of a young filly. Greg Foley trains for Lloyd Madison Farms IV, LLC. Tom Pompell, aboard for the dominating Cincinnati Trophy win, is named again for the Valdale.

Trainer Graham Motion will saddle One Man to Beat, who comes in from racing in the slop at Laurel. Staying close to the pace, she finished second in her last two starts after blowing away her competition in an 8 3/4-length maiden win. She has one win and one second at the mile distance, and while she has not raced over Polytrack, she has posted strong works over the all-weather surface at Fair Hill Training Center. The Valdale is her first stakes attempt. Rodney Prescott will ride.

Vancy Pants broke her maiden on the Polytrack at Presque Isle Downs, followed with two off-the-board finishes on turf, and returned to win by more than six lengths on the dirt at Mountaineer. She has two wins in four tries at a mile. Eric Reed trains; Julio Felix rides.

Northern Chorus got up for two straight wins going a mile at Turfway, one coming from off the pace and the other closing. The Valdale is her first stakes attempt. Godofredo Laurente rides for trainer Mike Tammaro.

Completing the field for the $50,000 Valdale are Aqua Jean (jockey Fernando De La Cruz); Ifonlyyoubelieve, who broke her maiden at the distance last out (Aldo Canchano); Check My Daddy (Bill Troilo); Lovers Spat, in from a win at Laurel (John McKee); Through the Clouds (Orlando Mojica); Birdgirl (James Lopez); Love Buzz, third in the Cincinnati Trophy (Dean Sarvis); and Bella Princess (Victor Lebron). Downtown Drifter is on the also-eligible list.

First post Saturday is 1:10 pm. Admission and parking are free.
