Breast cancer survivors joined Kentucky First Lady Jane Beshear in the winner's circle during Horses and Hope Day at the Races on September 26, 2008. Horses and Hope promotes breast cancer awareness among women in the equine industry.

Caitlyn Anglin, a biology major at Georgetown College, won her $1,000 scholarship after the 4th race on College Scholarship Day 2008.

Monica Riordan of Spring Grove, Illinois, an exercise science major at Miami University, won $1,000 on College Scholarship Day 2008.

College Scholarship Day 2008 drew students from across the Tri-State. Ten took home $1,000 scholarships.
