Trainer Kelsey Danner Earns First Career Win
FLORENCE, Ky. (Jan. 13, 2018) – Trainer Kelsey Danner, 32, scored her first career training win Saturday, Jan. 13, when 3-year-old filly Majestic Bold broke her maiden in the first race at Turfway Park. The milestone win came with Danner’s ninth starter. The trainer also counts one second-place finish. Read more.

Turfway Park Adds Races, Shifts Post Times
FLORENCE, Ky. (Jan. 10, 2018) – To recover races lost to cold-weather cancellations and work around temperatures expected to plummet this weekend, Turfway Park is making changes to its live racing schedule this Saturday as well as to the meet’s Friday cards. Read more.
Mike Maker Ties Record for Most Turfway Training Titles
FLORENCE, Ky. (Jan. 6, 2018) – Mike Maker tied the Turfway Park record for most training titles when he topped the standings for the 2017 holiday meet to earn his 20th title overall. The meet began Nov. 29 and ended Dec. 31. Read more.

Turfway Park Introduces Starter Bonus
FLORENCE, Ky. (Jan. 1, 2018) – Beginning Feb. 1, Turfway Park will offer a $200 bonus to each owner or partnership represented in an overnight race if the field offers 10 or more wagering interests when the gates open. Read more.

Royal Son Dominates Prairie Bayou Stakes
FLORENCE, Ky. (Dec. 29, 2017) – Royal Son dominated the black type $50,000 Prairie Bayou Stakes at Turfway Park Friday, taking the lead at the top of the final turn and widening his advantage at will to win by 7-1/4 lengths. Dac, who won this race in both 2015 and 2016, was second, with Zulu Alpha another 4-1/2 lengths back in third. Read more.

Turfway Opens 50th Winter/Spring Meet New Year's Day
FLORENCE, Ky. (Dec. 29, 2017) – Turfway Park opens its 50th winter/spring meet Monday, Jan. 1, with live Thoroughbred racing scheduled New Year’s Day and all Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through March 31. Read more.
Turfway Throws Back to the '70s for New Year's Eve
FLORENCE, Ky. (Dec. 21, 2017) – Turfway Park will welcome 2018 at its annual New Year’s Eve party by paying tribute to the iconic fashion and music of the 1970s. Themed Hustle into 2018, the Dec. 31 party offers live Thoroughbred racing, a free concert, free admission and free parking. Dinner reservations and valet parking are also available. Read more.
27-1 Luckyallmylife upsets Holiday Inaugural
FLORENCE, Ky. (Dec. 1, 2017) – Veteran jockey Perry Ouzts and Northern Ohio shipper Luckyallmylife upset the 32nd running of the $50,000 black type Holiday Inaugural Stakes at Turfway Park Friday, flying late to score at 27-1. She was 1 1/2 lengths better than fellow closer Miner’s Cat, with Marquee Cal Gal another half-length back in third after battling on the lead with Seeknthegiantpearl into deep stretch. Read more.

Trainer Mike Maker Scores Career Win 2,000
FLORENCE, Ky. (Nov. 30, 2017) – Trainer Mike Maker scored his 2,000th career victory Thursday, Nov. 30, as Tomahawk Kitten scored his first, cruising home a 4 1/4-length winner in the first race at Turfway Park. Fittingly, Tomahawk Kitten was bred and is owned by Maker’s longtime clients Ken and Sarah Ramsey. Read more.

Turfway Park Announces Changes to Stakes Schedule
FLORENCE, Ky. (Aug. 29, 2017) – Turfway Park will open its 59th season Nov. 29 with upgrades to its most important day of racing as well as modifications to its stakes schedule, General Manager Daniel “Chip” Bach announced today.
One significant change is the resurrection of the Kentucky Cup Classic, to be run on the Spiral Stakes (G3) undercard. Last run in 2011 as a Grade 2 race, the Kentucky Cup Classic trophy has gone to such standouts as dual classic winners Tabasco Cat, Silver Charm and Thunder Gulch, Dubai World Cup winner Roses in May and Grade 1 winners Perfect Drift and Hard Spun.
