FLORENCE, Ky., March 24, 2012 – In Lingerie led from the start and was never challenged in the $100,000 Bourbonette Oaks (G3) at Turfway Park Saturday, leading by one length after the first quarter-mile and by six lengths at the finish of the one-mile race for 3-year-old fillies.

Her stablemate Dancing Solo was second, 5 1/2 lengths ahead of Toxis, who closed for third.

Working beautifully with jockey John Velazquez, In Lingerie dictated a deliberate pace of :25.24 for the first quarter, :49.10 for the half-mile and 1:13.84 for six furlongs before finishing the mile in 1:38.28.

"We were very pleased with the way she ran," said trainer Todd Pletcher by phone from Palm Meadows Training Center in Florida. "It looked like she broke alertly and set some comfortable fractions, and she handled the track, so we're very pleased. She will come back to Palm Meadows on Tuesday and we’ll see how she comes back, and then I'll talk to (owners) Gary Barber and Aron Wellman (the latter of Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners) and we'll come up with a plan for her."

Making just her third career start, In Lingerie proved herself ready for the leap to graded stakes company even before the start of the race.

"I was a little nervous before the race because she misbehaved at the gate last time in Florida (when she finished second in an optional allowance)," said Velazquez, "but she popped out of the gate running and from there it was just a nice ride—just hold on to it. We went just as easy as you can go. She handled everything really well, and she loved the track."

Dancing Solo went with In Lingerie early and then settled a couple of lengths off the lead in fourth. She advanced to take second again before the three-quarter mark but never threatened the winner.

"We're very pleased with (Dancing Solo) as well," continued Pletcher. "It's always good to get black type with a young filly. She was a touch off the pace on the backside and made a good move on the turn."

Behind Toxis came Bourbonstreetgirl, Dixie Jackpot, Bourbonesque, More Than Love, and Original Kitten.

In Lingerie went off the 4-5 favorite and paid $3.60, $2.60, and $2.20.

By Empire Maker out of the Storm Cat mare Cat Chat, In Lingerie was bred in Kentucky by Colts Neck Stables LLC. In her three starts she has won twice and finished second once for earnings of $82,265.
