The network's coverage also will be carried by FSN Prime Ticket, Sun Sports, the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network, SportSouth, and MSG Plus, altogether reaching 64 million homes. Start times for each network vary but all will carry TVG's coverage from 5 to 6 p.m. ET. Post time for the Vinery Racing Spiral Stakes is 5:31 p.m. ET.
"TVG is excited to be the exclusive broadcaster of this year's Vinery Racing Spiral Stakes," said Tony Allevato Sr., vice president and executive producer of TVG. "Year in and year out the Spiral represents one of the most wide open Derby prep races and this year looks to be no exception."
Hosting the day's live coverage from Turfway will be TVG commentators Greg Wolf, Donna Barton Brothers, and Michelle Yu.
The Vinery Racing Spiral Stakes is supported by four undercard stakes: the Bourbonette Oaks (G3), one mile for three-year-old fillies and a prep for the Kentucky Oaks (G1); the Rushaway Stakes (listed), 1 1/16 miles for three-year-olds; the Queen Stakes, six furlongs for older fillies and mares; and the Hansel Stakes, six furlongs for three-year-olds.
The Spiral Stakes was established in 1972 and achieved graded status in 1984. This year marks the 40th running of the 1 1/8 mile race for three-year-olds and begins sponsorship by Vinery Ltd., a comprehensive Thoroughbred operation with locations in Kentucky, Florida, and New York.
