FLORENCE, KY . . . March 4, 2010 . . . Charity Night a the Tables: a Celebration of Community Giving will make winners of six Northern Kentucky non-profits at its 9th annual Monte Carlo bash, set for Saturday, March 20, at Turfway Park, 7pm to 12:30am.
With presenting sponsorship provided this year by Horseshoe Casino and Hotel Southern Indiana, Charity Night at the Tables is produced by the Northern Kentucky Leadership Foundation and is connected to Turfway's Kentucky Derby prep race, the Lane's End Stakes.
At Charity Night at the Tables, players try their luck at roulette, poker, blackjack and other casino games, designating play-money winnings to one of the participating charities. The charity with the most “money” at the end of the night gets first pick of horses running in the Lane's End Stakes the following Saturday. The charity whose horse finishes best receives $10,000 for its work. The charity whose horse finishes next-best receives $6,000, and the other four charities receive $4,000 each.
New to this year's Charity Night at the Tables is a blackjack tournament. While the winner will receive a trophy, the cash pot will go to the participating charity of the winner's choice.
Tickets to Charity Night at the Tables are $75 per person. Entry to the blackjack tournament is an additional $10. Admission includes chips for the gaming tables, a grazing buffet, unlimited beer, wine, and soft drinks, and live entertainment by the Endless Summer Band. Tickets are available from any of the six charities, by calling (859) 578-8800, or at www.nkychamber.com.
